Are there actually ANY decent referees in our league?!?!...

What an arsewiping shitcunt of a ref... Today's game should've been a pretty straighforward match to officiate but he bollocksed it up because he's a fucking useless cunt...

They should've had at least three or four bookings - possibly even a red - yet the arsewipe was reluctant to reach his pocket for anything... Useless cunt...

However, we seem to be saying the same thing every week... Are there actually any decent refs?!?!... Have they always been as fucking useless as they are now?!?!...

I was pleased with our team's reaction today and I felt that we were worth the three points (just about) today against one of the most difficult opponents in our league - but I can't help but feel really fucking irritated by the ref's performance... Yet again...

Blowing-up for half-time when we were on the attack as well... What a fucking useless wanker... Pissed me off more than anything else today the ref...

That referee let so many Everton fouls go without booking anyone. If he'd shown a yellow card or two, maybe the Everton player would've thought twice about doing Payet.

If he blew up 15 seconds before added time ran out then that is indeed an error. That's not what the original post said. The original post criticised him for blowing up when we were attacking, I was pointing out that it's irrelevant where the ball is on the pitch when time runs out.

If I remember correctly on that particular occasion time happened to of run out in between the awarding of the corner and the time it took to take it

Still 15 seconds left in our game and its called "MINIMUM amount of time added on" for a very good reason

There is no rule about not blowing for full time when a team is attacking. I seem to remember in a world cup someone taking a corner, the ball going through the air, ref blew the whistle just as someone headed it in. He was right, you blow the whistle when the time is up.

But yes, the way he let them kick the shit out of us was poor.

I'm fairly sure that scissor tackles are something the FA are supposed to be stamping down on.

And that is extremely rare for one to be done accidentally.

If the FA has tied its hands regarding retrospective punishment of the player, they can still punish the ref. Don't suppose they will, though.

Everton have always been a bit of an agricultural team. Not afraid of leaving a foot in.

Lanzini will also be a target now. Expect him to be on the end of some raw challenges in the coming weeks.

Payet's success this season and impressive stats was always going to make him a target and the treatment he got yesterday was no surprise in that sense. These scissor style tackles are the way you can disguise a tendon stretching tackle as it means the player's feet are caught as they fall and their weight is what does the damage as they fall.

Did Martinez make it clear that they had to stop Payet dictating play and to let him know with some rough challenges? Probably has not said "take him out" but obviously Mccarthy is instructed to make his presence felt. What some teams do is take turns at hitting the key player and that is what Everton did and Mccarthy left his legs in there to bring his man down and hope for an injury.

I thought these scissor style tackles were on the list of straight reds? They have seen sending offs in the past.

In the good old days, Billy or Dicksie, Wardy, Martin Allen or someone would have given Mccarthy, Barkley and a couple of the others some retribution. Perhaps we can do a number on Mccarthy up at Goodison. :-)

Look the ref yesterday let a few tackles go that should have been booking and unfortunately we've ended up with a couple of injuries.

He'll learn from it and hopefully the Referee's Assessor will point out where he went wrong and next time he'll get it right.

Being a PL referee is a fucking hard job, the game is so quick and you have players trying to con the referee all the time.

He's used to the Championship where the challenges that are punished in the PL go without a booking, it's a more physical league.

We can moan all we like BUT you have to have new referee's and they will take time to settle in and adjust to the step up in class.

The real villains of the piece is not the referee, it's Martinez and his bunch of kickers. Can't stand the fucking bloke, at Wigan I always had him down as a fucking cheat and nothing has changed.

Hopefully it wont be long before he goes the same way as those Wigan cunts.
